She has played a leading role in supporting the transformation of Hong Kong’s listed market and infrastructure, enhancing market quality, attractiveness, and efficiency, and helping position HKEX as a leading global exchange group.<br><br>Ms Chan has held leadership roles in legal and financial services with Asia-Pacific and global responsibilities. Before becoming CEO, Ms Chan was HKEX’s Co-Chief Operating Officer, where she oversaw the Group’s key operational and strategic functions. Ms Chan first joined HKEX as Head of IPO Transactions in 2007 from Morgan Stanley, where she spent four years leading the legal function for the investment bank’s Asia capital markets business. She rejoined HKEX in 2020 as Head of Listing, after serving as a partner at international law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell focusing on capital markets between 2010 and 2019.<br><br>Ms Chan is a frequent contributor to the World Economic Forum and is a member of the Forum’s Centre for Financial and Monetary Systems Advisory Council.<br><br>In Hong Kong, Ms Chan served as a member of the Financial Services Development Council between 2015 and 2018, and was a member of its Board of Directors between 2019 and 2020. She was also a member of the Standing Committee of Company Law Reform and the Disciplinary Panel of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.<br><br>Ms Chan was recognised as one of the World Federation of Exchanges’ Women Leaders between 2021 and 2023. She was also recognised among IFLR1000’s Asia Best Lawyers in 2019 and was named The American Lawyer’s Dealmaker of the Year in 2018.<br><br>Ms Chan holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Hong Kong and a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School. She is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong and an attorney at law in New York State. </p>

She joined the Hong Kong Department of Health in 1978, where her career in public health began.<br /><br />In 1994, Dr Chan was appointed Director of Health of Hong Kong，the first woman to hold that position. In her nine-year tenure as director, she launched new services to prevent the spread of disease and promote better health. She also introduced new initiatives to improve communicable disease surveillance and response, enhance training for public health professionals, and establish better local and international collaboration. She effectively managed outbreaks of avian influenza and of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). <br /><br />In 2003, Dr Chan joined WHO as Director of the Department for Protection of the Human Environment. In June 2005, she was appointed Director, Communicable Diseases Surveillance and Response as well as Representative of the Director-General for Pandemic Influenza. In September 2005, she was named Assistant Director-General for Communicable Diseases. Dr Chan was elected to the post of Director-General on 9 November 2006. The Assembly appointed Dr Chan for a second five-year term at its sixty-fifth session in May 2012. Dr Chan’s last term began on 1 July 2012 and ended on 30 June 2017. <br /><br />On 2 April 2020, Dr Chan was appointed as inaugural Dean of Vanke School of Public Health, Tsinghua University, China.</p>

He received his early education in Hong Kong and England, and took his law degree at University College London (UCL) where he is now Chairman of the University’sgoverning council.<br /><br />Mr Chu is Chairman and CEO of First Eastern Investment Group, a leading Hong Kong-based international investment firm and a pioneer of private equity investments in China. He is a Co-Founderand Director of Peach Aviation in Japan, as well as a Board Member of AirbusSEand Nomura Holdings.<br /><br />Over the last 30+years, Victor Chu has at various times served as Director and Council Member of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Member of the Hong Kong Takeovers and Mergers Panel, Advisory Committee Member of the Securities and Futures Commission, and part-time member of Hong Kong Government’s Central Policy Unit. MrChu has also served as a Foundation Board Member (Trustee) of the World Economic Forum from 2003 to 2015 and currently co-chairs the Forum’s International Business Council. He is Chairman of the Hong Kong-Europe Business Counciland Chairman ofthe Hong Kong-United States Business Council.<br /><br />Mr Chu is admitted to practise law in England and Hong Kong. Since 1982 he has practised in the field of corporate, commercial and securities laws, with special emphasis on regional investment transactions. He served as Deputy Secretary-General of the International Bar Association (IBA) from 1995 to 2000.<br /><br />Victor Chu is a Trustee of Asia House in London and Hong Kong, as well as a member of the advisory boards of Chatham House, the Oxford Martin School and the Atlantic Council of the USA.<br /><br />Mr Chu was awarded the 2011 Global Economy Prize by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.</p>

He is also Chairman of IP Group plc, which invests to accelerate commercialisation of science and technology based early-stage companies involved in life sciences, cleantech and deep technology. He has for many years been involved with Cancer Research UK where he chairs their corporate partnership board and since December 2022 Sir Douglas has been Chairman of the Royal Marsden Hospital and Charity. The Royal Marsden is the UK’s leading cancer hospital dedicated to cancer diagnosis, treatment, research and education.<br /><br />Douglas retired as Group Chairman of HSBC Holdings plc on 30th September 2017, having been appointed to that role in December 2010. For fifteen years prior to this he was HSBC’s Group Finance Director, joining from KPMG where he was a partner. During his HSBC career, Mr Flint was a member of both the Mayor of Beijing’s and the Mayor of Shanghai’s International Business Leaders’ Advisory Councils and served on the International Advisory Board of the China Europe International Business School. He was also up until his retirement, Chair of City UK's China Market Advisory Group.<br /><br />Between 2005 and 2011 he was also a Non-Executive Director of BP plc.<br /><br />In June 2006 Mr Flint was honoured with a CBE, and received his Knighthood in 2018, both awards in recognition of his services to the finance industry.</p>

He is the second Asian and the first person from Hong Kong to be awarded the Prize since it was founded in 1986. He was previously President and Chief Executive Officer for the Group between 2015 and 2021.<br /><br />Under his leadership, Mitsui successfully repositioned itself for future success by transforming and expanding its core business while at the same optimizing its portfolio. The Group also focused on new areas of growth, including energy solutions, healthcare/nutrition, and market Asia, driven by the creation of multifaced values and opportunities from digitalization, decarbonization, and consumers.<br /><br />He has held various senior positions with the Group around the globe, including in Asia, North and Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. Over the course of his illustrious career, he has gained diverse and deep business experience including stints at the World Bank and Toyo Engineering Corporation.<br /><br />He first joined Mitsui in 1983, and in 2010 he served as the General Manager of the Corporate Planning ＆ Strategy Division, where he led the formulation of its medium-term management strategy and business plans. He then became the Chief Operating Officer of the Integrated Transportation Systems Business Unit in 2013, driving growth for the segment through projects across various fields including automotive, construction machinery, shipping, aerospace and railway. During his tenure, he also initiated strategic initiatives in railway infrastructure and truck-leasing to expand the segment and enhance its competitiveness.<br /><br />His motto in business is to “know and respect your partners”. (300347.SZ/3347.HK), and is currently the chairman of the company. In past years, he was awarded many honorary titles, such as ‘2009 Top 25 Outstanding Entrepreneurs in China’, ‘2016 Professional Excellence Award’, ‘2019 Outstanding Entrepreneur in High-quality Management Development’, Imperial College China Alumni Association - Distinguished Alumni Title.<br /><br />Tigermed that he founded is a trusted clinical research organization, it provides full-service for the global biopharmaceutical and medical device industries. In past five years, the company has provided services for 52.9 percent of Class I new medicine approvals in China. In 2021, the company's operating income was 5.214 billion RMB, an increase of 63.32%, and the net profit attributable to the holding company was 2.874 billion RMB, an increase of 64.26%. The income from overseas main business was 2.447 billion RMB, up 91.87% year on year. Overcoming the impact of the epidemic, Tigermed achieved operating income of 5.65 billion RMB, rose 4.52% compared with a year earlier in the first three months of 2023.<br /><br />In recent years, Tigermed has also won the 2019 Zhejiang Corporate Social Responsibility Award, Frost &amp; Sullivan's 2021 China Clinical Contract Research Organization (CRO) Competitive Strategic Leadership Award and many other honor titles.</p>

Dr Ye Xiaoping

He received a master's degree in microbiology from the Department of Biology of Nankai University and a doctor's degree in microbiology from McGill University in Canada. In 1998, he joined Sanofi-Pasteur, one of the world's five largest vaccine companies, and served as Director of the Canadian Division of Bacterial Vaccine Development and Global Director of Bacterial Vaccine Development.<br /><br />In 2009, Dr Yu led his team to return to China to establish CanSinoBIO, specializing in the research and development, production and marketing of high-quality human vaccines. Dr Yu has been deeply engaged in the field of biomedicine for more than 30 years, and has rich experience in the development and operation management of biological products industry. He led the team to establish a rich vaccine research and development pipeline covering more than 10 infectious diseases. The commercialized products include the global innovative Recombinant novel coronavirus vaccine, the inhaled novel coronavirus vaccine and first in China ACYW135 meningococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccine.<br /><br />Dr Yu also led the construction of the CanSinoBIO's vaccine production site, which was designed, constructed and operated in accordance with China and international GMP standards. Under the leadership of Dr Yu, CanSinoBIO team successfully completed H-share listing on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and A-share listing on the Science and Technology Innovation Board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, and continues to introduce a number of high-quality and innovative vaccines to the domestic and international markets, contributing to the cause of global public health.</p>
